If you skipped Black Friday and passed on Cyber Monday, it’s not too late to get in on the festive action! Today is Giving Tuesday, a day set aside for giving back. Whether that means donating to a favorite charity or pledging to volunteer time with a meaningful organization, Giving Tuesday is all about thinking outside the sales department and getting into the real spirit of the season.
On Giving Tuesday this year, we would like to ask you to consider donating to your friendly neighborhood civil rights non-profit. CREEC is devoted to ensuring that everyone – regardless of race, gender, disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity – can fully and independently participate in our nation’s civic life. We’re committed to researching, investigating, litigating, and advocating issues related to accessibility and discrimination in areas like housing, healthcare, education, and transportation.
Donations to CREEC will help fund the new and exciting civil rights projects we’ve launched this past year. Just a few of the projects we’re jazzed about include working with cities across the U.S. to improve curb cuts on city streets, meeting with various universities to add captions to online videos so deaf and hard-of-hearing students can learn as effectively as their hearing counterparts, and investigating ADA accessibility issues in Colorado and Federal prisons. In addition to these projects, we’re also launching an extensive testing initiative that will help us determine where we need to be advocating and litigating, as well as who we should be pestering! Every donation dollar will go towards funding these new endeavors as well as helping pave the way for success in ongoing projects (such as our Outdoor Recreation Class Action case and the Medical Communications Access Project). Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
