Civil Rights Education and Enforcement Center and Justice Catalyst Law are investigating housing discrimination against people addicted to opioids who are participating in medication assisted treatment.
MAT PARTICIPANTS EXPERIENCING HOUSING DISCRIMINATION
Are you a person who is addicted to opioids (often called “opioid use disorder” or “OUD”)? Are you receiving medication assisted treatment (“MAT”), for example, counseling paired with methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone? Are you having or have you had any of the problems below?
- Denied the opportunity to apply for housing.
- Rejected housing application.
- Evicted from housing.
Do you suspect the problem happened because you are or were participating in MAT?
