Cy Pres Funds

SUPPORT Disability Law United AS A CY PRES FUNDS RECIPIENT

Disability Law United is a strong contender for cy pres awards, especially in cases where a court finds harm to have been inflicted upon disabled people.

In designating a cy pres award to Disability Law United, you will help further intersectional disability justice. Since our founding in 2013, Disability Law United has helped secure the rights of 400,000+ individuals

Disability Law United has focused its work on advocacy that impacts disabled people experiencing discrimination at the intersection of other systems of harm including immigration, incarceration and policing, accessibility, and disaster preparedness. Additionally, Disability Law United’s Legal Advocacy and Technical Assistance (LATA) work provides self-advocacy training and support, legal and non-legal advice, materials review, technical assistance to other lawyers, legal/non-legal referrals, filing access requests and administrative complaints on behalf of disabled persons seeking government provided services, and those in detention or carceral institutions.

Cy pres funds will be used to further that work which centers the concerns and goals of people with disabilities who are confronting barriers to access to programs and services and resisting oppressive legal systems in the United States. Please consider keeping Disability Law United in mind as a cy pres funds recipient.
